MAGAZINE FLATPLANS

You have until next Wednesday (16th February) to complete a flatplan of your front cover, contents page and double page spread. These should be in full colour, with all text apart from the Interview. You should be able to justify all your decisions in regards to the research you've done and how it targets your audience.

You also need to start thinking about who you're going to interview and where and when you're going to take your shots.

Also take a look at Pete's Media Blog (the OCR examiner) for advice on the music magazine: http://petesmediablog.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-10-09T10%3A44%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=8. There is also a permanent link on the right of this page. Check his blog out regularly.

We are looking forward to seeing what you will produce!

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD ANALYSIS

All of you need to complete the following by Monday:
  • Select two double page spreads from different magazines
  • Analyse the presentational features of both double page spreads
  • Analyse the language used in both double page spreads
  • Write a summary of your findings including what conventions you are going to use and follow in your double page spread. Also suggest any ways you might make yours different.
Ensure that you have written about all of this on your blog and uploaded the analysis via photo or scanned image where possible.

I will be checking on Sunday night! Be prepared!

BLOGS!

Ensure your blogs are up-to-date and looking professional! If you're not sure what to do then look at some of last year's AS students blogs on the right of this page. Click on the links - they all did well in their practical project overall.

By Monday, you should have on your blog:
  • Your magazine research completed in pairs
  • Your individual research into your target audience and selected magazines
  • Your market research survey and an evaluation of your findings
  • Your Reader Profile
Don't forget your two magazines for Monday!

Happy blogging!
